On Saturday Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi paid tributes to the legendary Tamil poet and philosopher Thiruvalluvar on Thiruvalluvar Day.
In a tweet, the Prime Minister said;
“On Thiruvalluvar Day, I pay tributes to the great Thiruvalluvar. His ideals are insightful and practical…they stand out for their diverse nature and intellectual depth. Sharing a video I took last year of the Thiruvalluvar Statue and Vivekananda Rock Memorial in Kanyakumari.”

Who was Thiruvalluvar?
Thiruvalluvar, also known as Valluvar, was a renowned poet and philosopher from Tamil Nadu. He authored the famous Tamil classic Tirukkural, a book on ethics, politics, economics, love, etc. Tirukkural is considered to be one of the best Tamil literature of all time.
