Righteousness is not in turning your faces towards the east or the west. Rather, the righteous are those who believe in Allah, the Last Day, the angels, the Books, and the prophets; who give charity out of their cherished wealth to relatives, orphans, the poor, ˹needy˺ travellers, beggars, and for freeing captives; who establish prayer, pay alms-tax, and keep the pledges they make; and who are patient in times of suffering, adversity, and in ˹the heat of˺ battle. It is they who are true ˹in faith˺, and it is they who are mindful ˹of Allah˺. 2:177

Neki yeh nahin hai ke tumne apne chehre mashriq (east) ki taraf karliye ya magrib(west) ki taraf, balke neki yeh hai ke aadmi Allah ko aur yaum e aakhir aur malaika ko aur Allah ki nazil ki hui kitab aur uske paighambaron ko dil se maane aur Allah ki muhabbat mein apna dil pasand maal rishtedaaron aur yateemon par, miskeeno aur musafiron par, madad ke liye haath phaylane walon par aur ghulamo ki rihayi par kharch karey, namaz qayam karey aur zakaat de aur neik woh log hain ke jab ahad karein to usey wafa karein, aur tanggi o museebat ke waqt mein aur haqq o baatil ki jung mein sabr karein, yeh hain raast baaz log aur yahi log muttaqi (pious) hain 2:177

What will explain to you what the ascent is? It is the freeing of a slave or the feeding in times of famine of an orphaned relative or some needy person in distress, and to be one of those who believe and urge one another to steadfastness and compassion. Those who do so are the people of the right hand, and [as for] those who are bent on denying the truth of Our revelations, they are the people of the left hand, and the Fire will close in on them. Al-Quran 90:12-20

Convey even if a single verse

Narrated ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr: that the Messenger of Allah (ï·º) said: “Convey from me, even if it be an Ayah, and narrate from the Children of Isra’il, and there is no harm, And whoever lies upon me purposely, then let him take his seat in the Fire.” Jami at-Tirmidhi 2669

Change Evil with Hand, Tongue and Heart

Abu Sa’eed said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah [SAW] say: ‘Whoever among you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; if he cannot, then with his tongue; if he cannot, then with his heart- and that is the weakest of Faith.'” Sunan an-Nasa’i 5008 Grade: Sahih (Darussalam).

Ascribing False things against Prophet

Narrated Al-Mughira: I heard the Prophet (ï·º) saying, “Ascribing false things to me is not like ascribing false things to anyone else. Whosoever tells a lie against me intentionally then surely let him occupy his seat in Hell-Fire.” I heard the Prophet (ï·º) saying, “The deceased who is wailed over is tortured for that wailing.” Sahih al-Bukhari 1291

It was narrated from ‘Ali that: The Prophet (ï·º) said: ‘”Whoever narrates a Hadith from me thinking it to be false, then he is one of the two liars.” (Either the one who invents a lie or the one who repeats it; both are liars). Sunan Ibn Majah 38 Grade: Sahih (Darussalam)

Issues with Tablighi Jamaat

The Tablighi Jamaat does not represent the entirety of Islamic teachings. Rather, it promotes an ideology shaped by specific leaders to whom followers pledge allegiance. Many view this as a misdirection, a waste of time, and as misaligned with the Quran and Sunnah for several reasons.

  • Those who want to learn Islam must avoid this because most of the people here are foolhardy, stubborn and ignorant who have little interest in reading or knowing what is actually written in Quran and Sunnah. They choose their Ameer, Hadi and Rehbar the one who just keep repeating certain things from their masters and their books without any concern whatsoever whether or not what they say or preach is in accordance with Quran and Sunnah. They focus less on Quran, more on Books written by their masters such as like Fazail-e-Amal and Muntakhab Hadith which according to many learned scholars of Islam allegedly contain false and selective Hadith.
  • Whereas Allah in Quran repeatedly commands Humankind to read Quran which has been revealed in an easy to understand manner, as a guide of truth and righteousness, many Jamatis think that neither they nor people are qualified or mature enough to read, understand or comprehend Quran whether in Arabic or its translation. So people cannot understand Quran or its translation but understand and comprehend what their masters wrote? Are their masters a better guide than Allah and his prophets? Some of them say that they don’t preach directly from Quran because Quran is not in “Tarteebâ€. So the tarteeb of their masters is better than Allah, Prophet and early Muslims including Ali RA, the bab-ul-ilm, who approved this compilation of Quran for all Muslims?
  • If they can’t understand even the translation of Quran, what makes them qualified enough to preach and propagate Islam? If they can’t understand even the translation of Quran, how can they understand translation of those selective and some false Hadith copied by their masters? It is interesting that they can’t comprehend the book of Allah but can comprehend the book of their masters.
  • Clearly, more than Islam, they seem to be serving the cause of certain families and their progenies in the name of Islam. More than Quran and Sunnah, they love books of their masters.
  • Their sessions are generally one way communication with little interaction. Many a times, they are presided over by naives who have little knowledge of Quran and Sunnah but keep reading from the book of their scholars. Worse, even many Deobandi Scholars and Imams who tolerate Tablighi Jamat in their Mosques consider their activities as sheer waste of time and hardly engage their own children in such gatherings and they are rather sent to the best english medium schools.
  • Most of the Jamatis also look sleep-deprived especially in their morning sessions and appear to be in a sleepy subconscious state thus doing injustice both to themselves and the session. (Ignoring the needs of body also an injustice per Quran and Sunnah). They focus only on few aspects of Islam, ignoring many others which are equally important for life and beyond.
  • The things they focus on include prayers, clothing, etc and the things they ignore include justice and honouring the rights of people. Some other aspects they keep emphasising includes “abandoning all their desires†and “hiding and overlooking mistakes of each otherâ€, “Not judging each otherâ€, etc which is good in and of itself but problemetic if frequently used as a decoy to evade accountability with regard to their spritual and material corruption, embezzlement of funds, rapes and sexual abuses especially of women and children with them, adultry, lies and manipulations. God knows best. Excessive overlooking and hiding of “flagrant, open and repeated sins and mistakes†of each other also goes against the “Forbiding Evil†mandate of Quran leading to more severe consequences.
  • If Tablighi Jamat overcomes above shortcomings and their members carry and preach from Quran and Sahih Hadith, make their sessions interactive, also focus on socio-political, global and economic issues, assign tasks to members based on their interest and capabilities not just on the basis of time spent in Jamaat, it might become more beneficial.

Abu Dharr (RAA) quoted the Prophet (ﷺ) saying among what he narrated from Allah, the Most High that He has said, “O MY slaves, I have made oppression unlawful for myself and I have made it unlawful among you, so do not oppress one another.†Related by Muslim. Bulugh al-Maram Book 16, Hadith 58

Ka’b bin Ujrah narrated: “The Messenger of Allah said to me: ‘I seek refuge in Allah for you O Ka’b bin Ujrah from leader that will be after me. And whoever comes to their doors, or he does not come, and he does not approve of their lies and he does not support them in their oppression, then he is from me and I am from him, and he will meet me at the Hawd. Ka’ab bin Ujrah! Salat is clear proof, and Sawm (fasting) is an impregnable shield, and Sadaqah (charity) extinguishes sins just as water extinguishes fire. O Ka’b bin Ujrah! Halal and Haram: General Rule

The General rule regarding haram and halal according to scholars is that all things by default are halal and permissible unless explicitly prohibited by Quran and Sunnah.

O you who have believed, avoid negative assumptions. Indeed, some assumption is sin. And do not spy or backbite each other. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his brother when dead? You would detest it. And fear God; indeed, God is accepting of repentance and merciful. Al-Quran 49:12

Aey logon jo imaan laaye ho, bahut gumaan (suspicion)karne se parheiz karo ke baaz gumaan (suspicion) gunaah hote hain. Tajassus (jasusi) na karo aur tum mein se koi kisi ki geebat na karey. kya tumhare andar koi aisa hai jo apne marey(dead) huey bhai ka gosht khana pasand karega? Dekho, tum khud is se gheen khate ho. Allah se daro, Allah bada tawbah qabool karne wala aur Raheem hai 49:12

Sahih Muslim 2563a Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (ï·º) as saying: Avoid suspicion, for suspicion, is the gravest lie in talk and do not be inquisitive about one another and do not spy upon one another and do not feel envy with the other, and nurse no malice, and nurse no aversion and hostility against one another. And be fellow brothers and servants of Allah.

Al-Nu’man ibn Bashir reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The lawful is clear and the unlawful is clear, and between the two of them are doubtful matters about which many people do not know. Thus, he who avoids doubtful matters clears himself in regard to his religion and his honor, and he who falls into doubtful matters will fall into the unlawful as the shepherd who pastures near a sanctuary, all but grazing therein. Verily, every king has a sanctum and the sanctum of Allah is His prohibitions. Verily, in the body is a piece of flesh which, if sound, the entire body is sound, and if corrupt, the entire body is corrupt. Truly, it is the heart.†Source: á¹¢aḥīḥ al-BukhÄrÄ« 52, á¹¢aḥīḥ Muslim 1599

He is the One Who has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book, of which some verses are precise—they are the foundation of the Book—while others are elusive. Those with deviant hearts follow the elusive verses seeking ˹to spread˺ doubt through their ˹false˺ interpretations—but none grasps their ˹full˺ meaning except Allah. As for those well-grounded in knowledge, they say, “We believe in this ˹Quran˺—it is all from our Lord.†But none will be mindful ˹of this˺ except people of reason. 3:7

We have made it a Quran in Arabic so that you [people] may understand. 43:3

And We have certainly made the Quran easy to remember. So is there anyone who will be mindful? 54:40

This is how Allah makes His revelations clear to you, so perhaps you will understand. 2:242

Surely this Quran guides to what is most upright, and gives good news to the believers—who do good—that they will have a mighty reward. 17:9

And indeed, this ˹Quran˺ is the absolute truth. So glorify the Name of your Lord, the Greatest. 69:51-52

Indeed, this ˹Quran˺ is a reminder to those mindful ˹of Allah˺. And We certainly know that some of you will persist in denial. and it will surely be a source of regret for the disbelievers. 69:48-50

Do they not then reflect on the Quran? Or are there locks upon their hearts? 47:24

Sâd. [These letters (Sâd etc.) are one of the miracles of the Quran and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. By the Quran full of reminding. 38:1

Ṭâ-SÄ©n. These are the verses of the Quran; the clear Book. 27:1
