Ukraine Declares Russia a Terrorist State, approaches International Court of Justice

President Zelensky warned Putin that the world will not forgive and forget the Russian atrocities on Ukrainian territories.

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday declared Russia a terrorist state amid the ongoing brutal armed conflict between the two states.

The latest developments come after the Russian rockets and missiles hit many civilian areas of Ukraine causing mass causalities.

In a video posted on Facebook President Zelensky warned his Russian counterpart, President Vladimir Putin, that “no one will forgive. No one will forget” the Russian atrocities on Ukrainian territories.

In a late-night address on Monday directed at Russia, Zelensky said there would “definitely be an international tribunal” for its war crimes adding that “no one in the world will forgive you for killing peaceful Ukrainian people”, reported Mail Online.

Ukraine has already approached the International Court of Justice at the Hague and Prosecutors there have also shown willingness to open a probe at the earliest.

“There is a reasonable basis to believe that war crimes and crimes against humanity have been committed”, claimed Hague prosecutor Karim Khan.

Speaking to media persons, Ukraine’s ambassador to the United States claimed that Russians are using devastating cluster and vacuum bombs on Ukraine. Cluster ammunition is illegal under international law.

The vacuum bombs also known as thermobaric weapons, can vaporize bodies and crush internal organs. They use oxygen from the surrounding air to generate a high-temperature explosion, typically producing a blast wave of a significantly longer duration than that of a conventional explosive.

Meanwhile, Belarus has also entered the conflict from the side of Russia, claimed Ukrainian authorities on Tuesday.
